Our team at Sussex Carpet Brokers has years of experience fitting carpets, vinyl and wood flooring, both in commercial and residential settings. All of our expert fitters follow The Carpet Foundation's Code of Practice, which is approved by Trading Standards.
The process of fitting a new carpet, once all measured up and quoted first involves removing any old flooring, and clearing the room. Have a look at the photos to see James, one of our expert fitters, fitting new underlay and carpet in a bedroom.
Carpet Gripper - a wooden bar with spikes to hold the carpet in place is then secured around the perimeter of the room. Next, underlay is cut to the size of the room from a roll, and is glued down with a specialist fitters spray glue.

& why it is used.
Having been ordered to size, or trimmed in our warehouse, the carpet is then unrolled and secured to the gripper around one side of the room using specialist tools. Before securing onto the gripper on the other side of the room, a carpet knee kicker is used to ensure that the carpet fit is tight and completely without any creases to give a crisp professional finish. This also ensures the longevity of the carpet.
Finally, we will remove any waste responsibly, and give the new carpet a vacuum to ensure any loose fibres are removed, and the carpet is looking fantastic and soft.
